We Took to the Coast

– Poetry in Motion

We Took to the Coast is a new expression of a boutique, hand-made candle brand. We created  a short film and branded imagery, an immersive one-page website, and collateral for a pop-up shop on King Street in Charleston, SC.

We took to the Woods is a successful premium, hand-made candle brand, with a one-of-a-kind retail shop in Greenville, SC and stockists in 32 states. But there was an opportunity to grow their business. They were finding that buyers were considering them a Fall/Winter brand, even though candles are a year-round product.

The solution was to create a sister-brand called We Took to the Coast. It was an exciting creative challenge to apply the same sensibility to a different season and place, a complimentary expression of The Woods brand. Taking inspiration from poetry about the sea, we sought to create something that was lyrical, evoking memories of time and place.

The result was a successful six-week pop-up shop on the famous King Street in Charleston, South Carolina and a strong debut for the new brand and collection.
